About us

The Poenamo Hotel reflects the natural charm of Auckland’s “lifestyle city” with the essence of fundamental and simplistic accommodation and still being only a stones throw away from the inner city CBD… decline the hustle and bustle of these inner city hotels for the hassle free stay which is the Poenamo.

Situated on one of Northcote’s main roads, metres from the motorway off ramp you’d expect a lot less than what you get here with us. We have 27 comfortable studio rooms encasing a secluded, quiet courtyard with a fully fenced swimming pool for a centre piece sided by our house bar/restaurant “The Backyard”. Corporate guests can opt for poolside studio rooms with wireless internet and easy external access (for those early morning starts) whilst sporting guests can take advantage of our interconnecting rooms and the many sports establishments nearby.

The Poenamo Hotel is a mere 10 minute drive from the heart of Auckland City, is central to sporting grounds on the North Shore and close to Takapuna Shopping district making us the ideal base for tourists, sporting guests and leisure travelers alike.

Within a 200 metre radius of our front door we have a 24hour MOBIL station, 24hour drive thru McDonalds, Fox Outlet Shopping Centre, Convenience stores and takeaway outlets. Onewa Domain, Netball North Harbour (AMI Centre), Takapuna Rugby and Cricket Clubs are all straight across the road and Takapuna Golf Course is right next door. North Shore Events Centre, Two Westfield Malls and Takapuna beach are less than 5 minutes drive from the hotel.

Within 10 minutes South of the hotel you can enjoy the highlights of Auckland City and experience attractions such as Sky City and Auckland Museum. Within 10 minutes up the Northern Motorway of the hotel you will findNorth Harbour Stadium and Albany Mega Centre. A little further North still you can visit Snow PlanetWaiwera Thermal Hot Pools and attractive Hibiscus Coast beaches and the reserves
